Solution

Within the adjustment of the new shipping warehouse, we proposed changes in the information system for securing faster and more effective work during customer requirements processing. At the same time, we proposed the use of an automatic identification system and a WMS (Warehouse Management System) for work in the shipping warehouse

For the completion of customer orders, we proposed the use of crates and conveyor for moving the crates around racks when completing a consignment.

Last but not least, we prepared a complete layout of the whole shipping warehouse arrangement for securing logical continuity of material flows, goods restocking to the completion zone, completion itself, packaging process and preparation for the expedition zone according to the type of transportation to customers.

Proposed measures cover the entire complex of problematic points in the area of shipping activities. Integration of individual parts into one functional whole is crucial for optimization of the income system and order management which is complemented by a technology using barcodes for item identification. Furthermore, it was necessary to perfect the consignment handling which until now, was only handled manually through a system of writing individual acts down in a paper notebook. A sophisticated system of storing goods on the shelves, special crates for consignment completion, roller conveyor and forklifts for transporting crates will all help to deal with this situation.

In the production part, we proposed to change the location of some machinery for decreasing the need for handling in production and permeability of some manufacturing processes – the preparation of the complete proposal of production layout change.

At the same time, we recommended creating a tool for calculation of needed sizes of production batches (calculation in accordance with the current needs, stock level and duration of production operations). For more effective production management, we recommended to use readers for tracking the production using barcodes on production orders.
