As reported by The Australian Financial Review, predictive modelling is also penetrating the field of gastronomy. The American multinational chain of pizzerias, Domino\u2019s, wants to predict the composition of their orders, and send the pizza to customers in less than 5 minutes after paying in the application.<\/p>\n

\u201cDomino’s is investing in technology that will help pizzerias accurately predict when customers will order pepperoni, and when they order gluten-free cheese on their pizza,\u201d describes the author of the text, Nina Hendyova\u0301.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Thanks to the rapid analysis of data from the Domino\u2019s application, the pizzeria receives information about the composition of the expected future order, so that it can handle it extremely quickly, and hand it over to the courier a few minutes after ordering. The technology should predict the composition of the pizza with 98 percent accuracy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThe race is not won on the road, it\u2019s in the shop,\u201d says Michael Gillespie of Domino\u2019s.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The text compares the novelty to a situation where a guest comes to a cafe and the barista starts preparing his favourite drink before he even opens the door.<\/p>\n

In June 2019, the Domino\u2019s chain also announced a partnership with the robotics company, Nuro. It aims to offer pizza delivery to customers in Houston by autonomous R2 vehicles.<\/p>\n
