By combining the activities of the port and the sea carrier, it has a chance of success"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>AP Moller-Maersk and DP World Jebel Ali Port recently announced the\u00a0conclusion of a long-term partnership. The goal of the agreement is co-operation,\u00a0both to improve customer services, and to decarbonise logistics. According to\u00a0logisticsinsider.in, the companies intend to reduce carbon emissions by almost\u00a0700 thousand tons through joint efforts. This should happen within the next 5\u00a0years.<\/p>\n<p>The Danish shipping company, Maersk, which operates in maritime and inland\u00a0freight transport, intends to prioritize DP World, the largest port in the Middle\u00a0East, for strategic reasons. It will therefore take advantage of its ideal location,\u00a0which makes it the gateway to 150 cities around the world. The port carrier will\u00a0introduce the Maersk Accelerate fast-tracking and priority cargo handling service,\u00a0as well as the Maersk Flex Hub cargo storage solution. They will be available to\u00a0all Maersk customers shipping through the Jebel Ali port.<\/p>\n<p>The carbon footprint of freight transport should also be reduced by the\u00a0replacement of vehicles in the port\u2019s inner terminal \u2013 cars with diesel engines will\u00a0be replaced by electric cars.<\/p>\n<p>DP World\u2019s Vice President said that achieving such a significant reduction in\u00a0emissions is a challenging task, but he believes it can be achieved with a partner\u00a0like Maersk.<\/p>\n<p>Maersk\u2019s ambition is to report zero emissions across its entire business by 2040.\u00a0It therefore intends to focus on new technologies, new vessels, and \u201cgreen\u201d fuels.\u00a0DP World has declared its commitment to become a carbon neutral company by\u00a02040, and a zero carbon company by 2050.<\/p>\n<p>Source: https:\/\/www.logisticsinsider.in\/ap-moller-maersk-and-dp-world-come-together-to-decarbonize-logistics\/<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>AP Moller-Maersk and DP World Jebel Ali Port recently announced the\u00a0conclusion of a long-term partnership.
