As Forbes writes, customer expectations are changing radically, when it comes to e-commerce services. This is shown by a survey, according to which 64% of more than 1,300 people who shop via e-shops expect to be able to track their package in real time, on the day of delivery.<\/p>\n

One of the reasons these expectations are changing is the rapid technological evolution of the delivery industry,<\/strong> led by companies such as Amazon and Uber. Their ability to use data to optimize processes and improve user experience sets a standard that many traditional carriers have yet to match. Although many traditional transport companies are still reluctant to invest in new technologies, it is clear that there is an urgent need in the market to accelerate digital transformation. The article provides several tips for such companies:<\/p>\n

  1. Engage your empl<\/strong>oyees: Digital transformation is only successful when the people working with innovative technology solutions are truly motivated and equipped with the right skills to use them.<\/li>\n

  3. Consider a SaaS solu<\/strong>tion: For medium and small logistics companies, SaaS solutions are a cost-effective way to quickly achieve digital maturity, and keep pace with industry technology leaders.<\/li>\n
  4. Have accurate and accessible data:<\/strong> To implement technologies such as automation, analytics, or artificial intelligence, it is essential to have accurate and accessible digital data.<\/li>\n
  5. Consider data sovereignty:<\/strong> If drivers choose their own tools, the company loses control over sensitive data. It is important to keep data for your own use, and use it for further optimization of processes with the help of machine learning and AI.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Ultimately, digital transformation is not only about the technology, but also about the people<\/strong> who use it. Last mile logistics providers should be prepared for rapid changes in the industry, and dare to embrace the challenges of digitization.<\/p>\n
