In these days, I cannot help thinking that we have so terribly complicated world that now we try to simplify it back again. Historically, we have somehow forgotten the „common sense” and now we simplify and simplify to not too hard work. Unfortunately, at that sort of speed runs over one imaginary boundary beyond which the bigger simplification is counterproductive. Right now I am building simulation and looking into the establishment of new facilities in the hall and I wanted to use technologies that are in the information system.

Not only did it lose there the tree structure of production, which produced semi-finished products which are assembled into the final product, but also the concept of workplace information system is little bit illogical.

To have simplified the number one workplace, which includes about 20 sites on the layout and represents about 8 successive steps in the manufacturing process including a step of cooperation, is such a small suicide in optimization. Master in production that allows incredible freedom to the people rearrangement and to restructure the production mix, but then not much talk about a production management let alone that such production can be reliably plan, or even impose some measure of production.

Sometimes it’s necessary to stop and tell you if I’m going in the right direction and whether the current state corresponds to an objective. In the latter case, the target is to plan and manage production, and if I look at it this „common sense“, it would have to conclude that went in the opposite direction.
