Lubos Zmatlik, the project manager

Logistics includes all activities necessarily implemented to ensure delivery of the product or service to the end customer. In the manufacturing enterprise, it is possible to distinguish three basic logistics:
1. Supply Logistics
2. Production Logistics
3. Distribution (sales) logistics

When optimizing logistics is necessary to assess its functionality as a whole. Condition for the success of the project logistics reorganization is to find the correct limiting factors for which the whole system will collapse or will reduce its performance. Quite a useful tool for the analysis of such a complicated and complex issue is very dynamic simulation. With it we can easily identify the bottleneck of the whole system examined. After identifying that place can propose corrective measures to the desired destination.

Production logistics is a business logistics major part of production control. Full implementation of broader logistics approaches in the organization, planning and management of its own production process with regard to the downstream partner organizations, suppliers and customers can be a significant savings. Frequently, at approximately the same quality of products is increasing the importance of timeliness and regularity of delivery, method of adjusting the product and its packaging, or using suitable transport equipment (pallets, containers, sacks), which follow the handling system customers.
Production logistics of moving materials and information it includes:

  • the definition of material movement within its own manufacturing process determined by the number, type, size, and location of production and storage sites
  • the election and creation of handling units and their management systems
  • supply of raw materials, auxiliary materials and spare parts to the production of hand stores
  • and operating and interoperating handling and transport of production waste
  • by dispensing and receiving equipment.

The global environment has resulted in changes in production. It is on downsizing. Enterprises producing fewer items because a large portion of semi buy on the market. On the other hand, customers are asking for significant differentiation between the different products. This trend has resulted in the production control method differs from the way management in recent years. Today in managing the material, but also information flows used by many theories. Probably the most widely used are the theory and the theory of decoupling point bottlenecks. Decoupling point is in the logistics chain that separates the part of the chain, which is controlled by the production plan and one that is driven by specific customer requirements. They are usually couched in orders. Bottleneck system is the logistics chain, which is limited by the performance of the entire chain.
